Today we went for the sonogram to measure the size of our little girl. When we got there, we explained to the sonogram-tech, Kevin, the reason for our sonogram. Before he even started he said, "Well, this is your first pregnancy so we don't know what your body will do during pregnancy. Just like some people gain a lot of weight and others don't." He reassured me/us that all women and all pregnancies are different.
He got started with the sonogram by measuring her head, stomach and legs then plugged the numbers into a formula on his machine to calculate the gestational age of the baby. With my other 2 sonograms, the baby measured 5 days behind my actual due date. This sonogram, the baby only measured 2 days behind the due date! So, that actually means she's gaining ground even if my belly isn't!
Kevin went on to show us what the size difference would look like if the baby really was as far behind as my belly measures. It was an obvious difference, so we are very relieved!
Since we were already in there getting a sonogram, Caleb asked Kevin if he would go ahead and look again to make sure it was a girl in there. And she is!
