Parker and Landon have been referring to baby Braddock as "B.B." but this week we go to find out if we are expecting a boy or girl!
February 2: Mom and Abby met Caleb and I at the clinic and rode with us to our 12:30 sonogram appointment. The man measured the baby's head, back, legs, etc. as we all anxiously awaited for him to give us the big news. We got to see the baby swallowing, the spine, arms/legs, feet, face, heart and stomach. It was so amazing to see how much our baby has grown since our last sonogram at 8 weeks. The baby is measuring the exact same as the last sonogram...5 days behind my due date.
When it came time to see if the baby is a boy or girl, the legs were crossed. Mom said "It must be a girl...she's being modest." After trying to get a look from several different angles and trying to get the baby to move around, he told me to take a 5 minute walk outside to see if that would help. Caleb, Abby, mom and I took a short walk and went back to try again. The baby had been Indian-style, but now one leg had moved. After looking all around and pushing on my belly a little, it was finally time to know what our baby is. Both legs had moved and he said "Are you ready to know...? It's a girl!!" We were all so surprised because all but 3 people thought it was a boy. Next, we got to hear and see the heart beating away at 147 bpm.
We are so happy to know the sex of our little baby and excited to have a precious little girl on the way! Looks like I'll get to use that bedding after all! We're so thankful that so far everything has been developing just fine and that the baby is doing good. Now...we get to paint and decorate our nursery!!!
We made a lot of phone calls on the way home to let everyone know we are expecting a girl. When Parker was on the phone and heard it was a girl, this was his response: "A girl!?!? But I wanted a little brother!"
This week, we also went out and bought a new "mom car" for me...a Sequoia!!
