Savannah developed a soft cough during the days following Christmas. It really didn't seem like more than a tickle in her throat, but it soon turned into a not-so-good sounding cough accompanied with a stuffy nose. Now, Savannah has been regularly adjusted (at least once a week) by her daddy since she was just 3 hours old and we have been very thankful to not have to deal with any type of sickness before this. As soon as I realized this cough wasn't just a tickle in her throat, I started doubling up on my vitamins and bought a humidifier to put in her room. Luckily, this little cold didn't seem to make her unhappy. But...she had also developed a terrible diaper rash (literally over-night) that did not make her little bottom feel good at all. And to top it all off, she is teething so her gums bothered her and she was running a fever off and on. Talk about making this mommy terrible!!
On Monday, Savannah took a 2 hour long morning nap and a 3 hour long afternoon nap. I knew she was sleeping off the sickness and was glad that she was getting rested while her body fought off the sickness. Tuesday morning, she took a 3 hour nap and that afternoon she took another 2 hour nap. By now, her diaper rash was just about completely gone (we got it much better in less than a day, thanks to Butt Paste) and she hadn't have a fever...thank goodness!
By Wednesday, our little girl was looking (and sounding) a hundred times better. I was so glad that we were able to kick this cold so quickly and without a doctor visit or medicine! So, after going through all of that, we decided to do a little "retail-therapy" and make our first time ever trip to BuyBuy Baby. Let me tell ya, that place is amazing!! It's probably a really good thing that the nearest one to me is a good 35 minutes away in a town that I don't go to often. Our bank account might experience some serious trouble otherwise! Among a few other small things, Savannah walked away with a new bathtub seat and she sure does enjoy it! Just take a look at these pictures...
