Zoo Date With Daddy

The schools are on spring break this week. That doesn't really mean anything for a stay-at-home-mom with a non-school aged child. But, it did mean a slower week at work for Caleb because so many people were on vacation.

We took advantage of having daddy around a little more than normal and the beautiful weather by making a visit to the Frank Buck Zoo. We like going to this zoo because the drive is less than an hour from our house, it's small enough to see all of the animals in just a couple hours and there aren't usually too many people there during the week.

Savannah loves animals so much and this is the perfect place for her to see most animals well. The morning started off a little chilly, but warmed up perfectly about half way through our time there.

Here, we were looking at a tortoise. He was all tucked up in his shell and not moving, but Savannah just kept wanting to stay there and see the turtle. When I told Savannah it was time to go see more animals, she waved to the turtle and said "bye, turtle". She's so sweet!

We had so much fun as a family being outside and seeing the different animals. I'm glad that Caleb's job allows him to have time off during the week to spend time with Savannah and I doing fun, family things!
