Until today, my mid-wife told me that they don't check for dilation until the due date or later because it doesn't really give any indication about when you'll have a baby. Some people are dilated to a 3/4 or more and still don't go into labor for several weeks. Other people might not be dilated at all and still go into labor within a few days. But today, I got checked and I was only 1cm, 50% effaced.
During the night, I woke up from contractions at 2am, 2:30 and 3:00. At 3:00, I wasn't able to get comfortable and go back to sleep. I ended up being awake until 5:00. I think because Jamie had her baby yesterday, I feel like I should be going into labor soon....even though it's still over a week until my due date.
