It's tradition in my family to spend Christmas Eve at my grandparent's house. We usually get together around dinner time and then head out to the Christmas Eve service at church. This was the first Christmas without my grandpa here and we gathered a little earlier, at 4:00 p.m., for a light meal and gifts.

The Christmas Eve services at our church were at 4:00 and 5:30, so we missed both of those. After we left my grandma's house, we went with my brother, Jason, and sister-in-law, Joy, to visit my other grandma who lives in an assisted living home. She was happy to have us stop by and enjoyed getting to see and hold Savannah.
