Yes, you read that correctly. A couple of Caleb's patients own and operate a dog training facility just outside of our town. They breed and train border collie dogs for herding animals. This weekend, they were hosting a sheep herding competition and said we were welcome to come watch on day. We thought it would be interesting and decided to take Savannah to watch (Hudson tagged along, of course).
This couple owns 14 dogs and of them had a litter of puppies 4 weeks ago. Savannah loves dogs, but only from a distance. She doesn't really like for them to be too close and will rarely pet one. We thought she would enjoy seeing the puppies, but we were wrong. She still wasn't interested in petting them.
We really knew nothing about sheep herding and it turns out, it's rather boring. One at a time, the owners with their dog went on to the course. The owner commanded his dog on what to do (i.e. lay down, move further away, etc.) in order to herd the sheep through gates and around cones on the course. Yeah, it's really as boring as I just made it sound. Definitely not my cup of tea, but the people involved were extremely dedicated to this event and their dogs.

We came home to swim after sitting outside watching this. :)
