Swimming Pool

At the beginning of this year, Caleb and I looked into having a swimming pool put in our back yard. At the time, it was hard to swallow spending so much money while it was so cold outside! Well, it didn't take long for us to regret putting it off. With Hudson being born at the beginning of summer and knowing we would be spending more time at home than usual, we got started on pool plans by mid-June and the big hole was dug by the second week of July.

With record setting heat this summer (over 60 days of 100+ degree temperatures), we were happy to be on our way to having a cool and refreshing place to be at right in our own backyard. As with any building project, we had a few set backs, communication issues and the process ended up taking two weeks longer than expected. It ended up being filled with water just a few days before the Labor Day weekend. And that's the same weekend that a "cold front" moved through dropping temperatures into the 50's and 60's at night with highs during the day only in the 80's. Just our luck! It was just too hard to not get in that pool, even if it was cold, after waiting all summer long!

And Hudson just laid on the couch outside talking and kicking, while enjoying the nice weather!

We will still do landscaping in the near future, but we're so happy to have this finished and look forward to lots of swimming days in the years to come!
