This morning was Hudson's two week follow-up visit with the pediatrician. We're still using the same pediatrician we decided to use when Savannah was born. She understands our view on medications and vaccinations. She doesn't push us to do things we don't feel are "right" or make us feel like we're "bad parents" for going against the general public's idea of health and wellness.
As usual, there was a ton of paperwork to fill out and then the nurse came in to check Hudson's weight, height and head measurement. She then went down the list of "do's" and "don'ts" of taking care of a baby and asked questions about the home environment (Do we have pets in the house? Does anyone smoke? Will the baby be in a daycare or with a baby sitter daily?), etc. Once she was finished with all the routine checks and questions, we then waited for the doctor.

Thankfully, they like to get newborns in and out as quickly as possible so they aren't "exposed" to so many germs. While that's a nice thought, I'm pretty sure every square inch of that place has germs all over it. Anyways, once the doctor came in, she reviewed the notes of Hudson's birth that I brought for them. She did the newborn exam on him and he was 100% perfectly healthy.
His two week stats are:
Weight: 8 pounds 10.5 ounces (50 percentile)
Height: 21.5 inches (1.5 inches more than at birth!! -- 74 percentile)

Head: 14 3/8 cm (45 percentile)
Compared to Savannah's two week stats:
Height: 20.5 inches (she's grown half an inch) 51%Weight: 7lbs. 10 ozs (only 4 ozs above her birth weight) 26%
Head: 14cm 51%
My oh my, we have a big boy on our hands and such much love to give him!
Just so cute Amy! You know we actually haven't taken Tirzah back to the doctor since our first original doctor...we just don't see the need right now. She's healthy! Gideon's healthy! But, oh Hudson is so cute!
