Valentine's Day

This morning, we all went to church and Savannah went to the nursery as usual. I got a page saying "please come" about 15 minutes before the end of service. This always happens! I miss the last 10-15 minutes of the service :(  The nursery workers did say that she continues to do better (playing, etc.) but she gets to a point where she just needs her momma. Hopefully she'll learn to play and be happy the whole time, soon.

This is the outfit Savannah wore today. Those are little hearts all over her pants. Her shoes didn't last long...she kicks them off.

After church, we went out to lunch with our good friends Bryan and Jennifer. It was great getting to visit with them and Savannah did great through our extended lunch, lack of nap, time.

She did fall asleep on the way home and took a good nap. When she woke from that, we gave her the big, stuffed teddy bear that we got for her. Watching her look at Mr. Teddy Bear was hysterical!!  She didn't want him to touch her or even get too close, but she grunted and baby-talked to him from a distance.

Today also marked another "first". It was the first time we left Savannah with a baby-sitter (my sister and mom) while we went out for a dinner date. I know, I know, it's pathetic that she's 2 days shy of 8 months and this is the first time we've done this. And what have we been thinking??? It was wonderful!!! A little strange not having toys being banged on the table or napkins being ripped apart, but at the same time, it was indeed an enjoyable dinner...just the two of us. 

We went to eat at a little Italian restaurant downtown, just a few streets over from where my family lives. We had reservations and enjoyed the Valentine's special menu of a super tender steak followed by a delicious cheesecake for dessert. Accompanied with wine and live music, this dinner was perfect!
